The TeddyBears featuring Iggy Pop

At 60 Iggy is sporting herion chic like it was still in style and the TeddyBears are just out there in happy-phun-time land.

I Like.

The new Police is not the old Police…

13 02 2007

outlandosdamor.jpg  Call me nostalgic, call me old fashioned… I was ready to fork over $450 for a pair of tickets for the upcoming Police reunion tour when I realized that the Police I once loved is no more.

If you’ve seen the Grammy opening gig on Sunday and the tour launch gig at Whisky a Go Go yesterday you probably noticed that the raw energy that once made the Police the biggest band of the 1980’s is gone.

It’s the Sting show now. All Jazzed up and re-packaged for the “older” crowd. Sure, I know that the boys are getting on in age, Sting is 54, Stewart is 55 and Andy is 64 and they are all super fit and in much better shape than I am but they just don’t put out the raw angry energy that made the pre-breakup Police performances a sight to behold.

I hope the boys will prove me wrong and if they do I may still go. But I’d rather remember them at their peak than be disappointed by a Jazzy Sting concert.

Roxanne Turns 30

11 02 2007

To celebrate this occasion The Police reunited to open the 49th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

The Police were without a doubt the biggest band of the 1980’s. But sadly Sting’s giant ego and Stewart Copeland’s hate-on for Sting broke up this awesome band in 1984.

See for yourself…

There’s a rumor that the threesome plan to tour later this year.
