Absinthe drove many a man to madness. It supposedly made Van Gogh lob his ear off and it once made me strip down to my boxers at a crowded party.

So why on earth would you combine an Absinthe spoon with USB?

Well, some genius did, and he’s looking for people to test this contraption…

(I personally think it’s just a bad photoshop job, conceived in a green haze)

Cheap solar power could undercut oil and gas by half

thin-film-panels.jpg

Swiss start-up company Flisom has created a thin-film Solar panel that will cut the cost from $4 per watt to just $1 per watt within a decade making Solar power a viable option to many home owners!

Granted, the $1/Watt cost does not include installation, Inverters and storage but it is still a great step in making off-grid power a viable option.

20 02 2007

Before playing a PC on TV and serving as The Daily Show’s “Resident Expert,” John Hodgman authored The Areas of My Expertise. The nearly 7 hour audiobook is narrated by Mr. Hodgman himself, the satirical almanac offers such gems as “700 Hobo Names,” “What Will Happen in the Future,” and “A Brief Time Line of the Lobster in America.” Even better, though, this self-proclaimed compendium of “complete world knowledge” is available free on iTunes Canada through February 26.

Joost for Mac

17 02 2007

Joost (formerly the Venice Project) has just released a Beta version of its client for Mac OS X.

Mac Intel users, rejoice! Joost for Mac Intel is now available in beta version. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. With the help of a handful of great people, we were able to leverage both the tremendous work done by the Client team for the Windows version as well as the cross-platform power of Mozilla. As a result, we have a Mac version that looks very much like Joost for Windows, while behaving very much like a Mac application.
